Owning a Mercedes-Benz: what to keep on top of
Keep Service A and Service B in their order, top up AdBlue on BlueTEC diesels before the warning becomes a no-start, and deal with suspension and brake advisories on the heavier models before they turn into MOT failures.
- Service A and Service B alternating in the record.
- AdBlue level and system warnings on BlueTEC diesels.
- Brake and suspension wear on the E-Class, GLC and GLE.
- Recall and software updates done at a Mercedes-Benz retailer.
Is my Mercedes-Benz ULEZ compliant?
Petrol Mercedes models registered from 2006 usually meet ULEZ. Diesels need Euro 6: most from September 2015 comply, and some earlier BlueTEC diesels already did. A diesel C-Class or E-Class from before 2015 often pays the £12.50 daily charge.
Can you get a Mercedes-Benz service history by registration?
Mercedes-Benz retailers log each Service A and Service B digitally. The Full HPI Check with Service History reads that log for cars from model year 2012 for £14.95, so you can see at a glance whether the pattern has a gap. If the record is empty, you pay nothing for the service history part.
Which Mercedes-Benz models can be checked?
Every Mercedes-Benz with a UK registration, including the A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, CLA, GLA, GLC and GLE, plus Sprinter and Vito vans for tax and MOT.
