Owning a Porsche: what to keep on top of
Keep every invoice, follow Porsche's service intervals even on low mileage, and protect the car against theft, which is a real risk for the 911, Macan and Cayenne. A V5C alert tells you if the logbook is reissued without your knowledge.
- Servicing on time even when the car covers few miles.
- Brake fluid changes, which Porsche schedules by age.
- Theft protection and a tracker on high-value models.
- A V5C alert, so a logbook reissue never goes unnoticed.
Is my Porsche ULEZ compliant?
Petrol Porsches registered from 2006 generally meet ULEZ, which covers most 911, Boxster, Cayman and Macan models. The diesel Cayenne, Macan and Panamera need Euro 6, usually met from September 2015, so earlier diesels may pay the £12.50 daily charge.
Can you get a Porsche service history by registration?
Porsche Centres record their work digitally. For Porsches from model year 2012 the Full HPI Check with Service History reads that record for £14.95, giving you official proof to show a buyer. Specialist independent work may not appear. If nothing is held, the service history part costs nothing.
Which Porsche models can be checked?
Every Porsche with a UK registration, including the 911, Boxster, Cayman, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan.
